41.5% BMC Property tax on flats given out on leave and license
Dear Priya,

The BMC has started collecting addtional property tax equivalent to 41.5% of annual rent for flats given out on leave and license in Mumbai. In addition to this property tax of 41.5%, the licensor has to pay income tax. How do elderly people who have given out their flats on leave and license to meet medical expenses and daily living expenses survive?

There still are about 7 lakh people in Mumbai who have given out their flats on leave and license and who are suffering this exhorbitantly high tax burden.

With such a high tax, people will not want to give their flats out on leave and license which will result in reduced supply of flats on rent thereby further increasing the already high rents in Mumbai.

Please let us know what you intend to do regarding this high property tax imposed by BMC on apartments given out on leave and license?

Voters ID
Dear MsPriya
We gave in our forms duly filled for Voters ID in march 2009 Till Date we have not got in We have made inumerable trips to Chembur Office Last trip they werte showing the list Inspite of giving proper names dob they have spelt it all wrong They are so careless and un organised We have been living in this flat since 1972 and going into the WEB they say there is no records of US A helpline no is being flashed in the Papers 1290 only to be told there is no number An ID is so very important in the aftermath of bomb blasts treain bus accidents etc is such a vital issue to be dealt with
Why not have an office whereby all People can come in give their names details etc photographed They can pay a small fee and get thteir Ids immediately This will save time paperwork and less worry
we hope to get our IDS after you read this message

Kalina Tank
Madam Good morning, I was born & bought up in Kolivery village,i have good memories of fishing&going boating in the Tank,But after the M.C.G.M having filled the Tank with debris the Tank property has become a place for SLUMLORDS to construct huts & carry on their illegal activites, Dear Madam I & other like minded citizens would like u to develop it as a PLAYGROUND,PARK& a small pond for the benefit of a big number of youths& Senior Citizens.Thanking u & awaiting ur kind response. Prabhat Colony Woes
Respected Madam,
Firt accept our heartiest congratulations onn been elected from our area. We residents of Prabhat colony have always been a firm believer in Shri Sunil Dutt's ideology & are happy you are taking it to the next level.

Madam we would like to bring to our notice some of the hardships we are subjected to on daily basis. Garbage disposal system is not efficient & roads are been used as open bins by slum dewellers. There is a garbage bin outside Couthino Apts/ Bhoomi Towers which is never cleaned regularly. Its always overflowing with garbage. Stray dogs have ade it their heaven which results in garbage been strewn on the roads. This is a serious health hazard & can cause an epidemic. We request you if the said Garbage point can be removed & people fined for indiscriminatly throwing garbage on the roads.

Thanking you
